Sand Pouring Cylinder

Description

The sand pouring cylinder apparatus is basically used for the in-place determination of the dry density of the compact or natural, medium, and line grained soils. It can be used for the soils whose layers do not exceed the thickness of approx. 500 mm. This sand pouring cylinder apparatus can also be used to measure the density of the base materials. In the ground, a circular hole is dug, from which all the soil is collected and weighted, and then dried. Post which the hole is filled back with the uniform standard soil or a fine gravel, that is poured from the calibrated container to calculate the volume of the hole.
